Mom and I on a Mission!!

My mother and I are officially on a "better ourselves" mission! Eating healthy, exercising, getting skinny, all that jazz. We are giving ourselves a year, til Mom's next birthday, although my goal is February. I need to look good for Matt's birthday cruise!

I realize this will take hard work and commitment.

I want to look like I did back when these pictures were taken:

So from here on out, I gotta eat right, exercise daily, and drink less.

This is important advice to remember though:

Everything's Changing

We all hear and often say that change is a good thing.

Just last week I said that I love it and welcome it.

I LIED.

Certain changes, like moving to a new place, or getting a new job, can be exciting and thrilling. Others like having to buy smaller jeans, or getting a raise at work, are more than welcome. However the most prominent change, loss, is absolutely terrible. I don't mean just death, I mean loss of relationships, friendships, or loss of consistency, changes in patterns that make us feel uneasy. These forms of change are down right tear jerking. I have found myself experiencing much of this form of change recently, and frankly, it's time for it to stop.

1.
A little over a year ago I lost a best friend whom I though I was going to grow old with. We talked daily and made time for each other as much as possible, yet for some reason, she up and decided she was "over it." Then many of my friends graduated college, and we simply lost connection. And further, I lost connection with people whom I'd only just begun to bond with.

I realize that we are all going in our own paths in this world, and that sometimes certain changes are necessary. I also realize that what happens to us, socially, in college, will not always be detrimental to our future. However, at present, it hurts.

2.
I am not just speaking of myself either. I see changes in other people's lives. I've cried over break ups that were not my own, and the friend involved have no idea. I've cried for the pain others feel in their relationships (with friends and significant others) during disputes. I feel as though if things can't work out for the people I care about, then they will certainly never work out for me. I should not internalize these changes the way I do, yet it happens.

I hate to see others in pain. I hate to sit back and watch these situations knowing I can do nothing about it. I hate that I cannot control everything and keep everyone I love happy. I really hate it.

3. I'm getting old. I'm graduating college within the next year. I'll soon be leaving behind the comforts of home and joining the military. I put on a brave face, which is not at all an act, but inside I can't help but anticipate the pain coming. I am a family girl. I have no idea how I am going to be able to handle being away from home for so long. The adventurer on me is excited about the next stage of my life, but I do have smaller, lesser known, personality that clings to my home life. I am scared to death of what is coming.

I have been wanting to get this off my chest for some time, and now I have. So, thanks for reading, and goodnight!

Boyfriend Better Be's....

So at lunch today my friends decided that I needed to make a list of requirements for my future boyfriend (my friends seem to think I need one), so here they are:

What they say:
1- He has to be single (well yeah, that's a given)
2- He has to be chivalrous
3- He has to pay for things
4- He has to be social. Willing to hang with my friends, but also have his own social life.
5- He also can't get jealous when I'm hanging out with my friends without him.
6- He has to be driven. Looking to do something more in life, seeking an education, etc..

Plus my preferences:
I like musicians, adventurous, and a Christian

kind of a rant..

My life has changed a lot recently. I've discovered many new things about myself, and about the people in my life.

Many of my so called friends turned out to not be such. This I am not having many issues with because once I graduate, I'm done. I'm out of here and away from all those people who don't really matter.

Speaking of getting out, I'ved altered my future plans slightly. Instead of going straight to the Navy, I've decided that I want to pack up and move somewhere new for a while. It will be a beach for sure. If it's not St. Simons, it will be California. One of the Sans maybe. IDK. I just wanna be somewhere new, meet non college kids, and experience a different lifestyle than this one.

I'm so ready to graduate. I hate college. Ok, I hate college in the academic sense. I love college life and the freedoms I do have. I also hate the people. Outside of the few people I know are there for me and that I can trust, the people in this town don't do much for me. The guys are all jerks or horn dogs (often actually both), and the girls are sluts or liars (again, often both). I wanna meet REAL people, not people who play games and care only about themselves.

Okay, well I guess I'm done ranting for now...

RIP Elizabeth Taylor

She has this one quote that I completely identify with:

"I feel very adventurous. There are so many doors to be opened, and I'm not afraid to look behind them."

I am a person who is constantly on the go. I never know where I'm gonna be. Nor does my family, haha. They've called me to check in and I've told them I'm on the beach, in the mountains, or on a road trip. It's quite entertaining.
I'm a person who won't settle down anytime soon. I'm definitely a free spirit, independent, and won't quite until I've seen all I can!

In closing, I have another tribute to the famous lady:
I fell off my pink cloud with a thud.
You lived a good life Elizabeth Taylor, may you rest in peace, diamonds and all!

Thoughts from SSI

So Monday (when I attempted to mobile blog this) I was sitting on a patio of a restaurant drinking endless Mimosas, here's the experience I had (while reading Eat.Pray.Love)

"This day I wonderful and fantastic in every way. Then this girl Sita next me, she is maybe 6 or 7. Everything she has said makes me smile. She asked if they had applesauce- hey a kid who knows what she wants. She looked to her sister (maybe a year age difference, if that) and says I can't wait to meet baby Jesus in heaven! The sweetest most sincere thing I have heard in a long time. I went back to riding and heard her comment -again, to her sister- you should just hug everybody. Tue mind of a child is an amazing thing. This girl is smarter than many of my college professors! I could sit and listen to her talk all day- she was just saying how she know what the word absent means. I wish the world thought the way this child did. So many people would be much happier!"
